Dean TV

Dean's show had a few facelifts through the year's, with formats and title changes.

Dean's show joked about it's use of cue cards. (And cue bellies...)

Dean's Closet Door Guest and Couch/Ballad segments were weekly highlights.

Dean's TV Guide appearances were numerous.(Note: The cover with John Wayne was his special about America, Dean shown top 3rd box from left...) The TV Guide with the Golddiggers has an article about their summer replacement show.

Memorable TV Moments

Winning the GOLDEN GLOBE Award

This great award was presented to Dean by his good friend John Wayne, and co-presented by none other than Lassie (!) Dean included in his acceptance speech "I knew if I ever won this a dog would give it to me." in which the Duke jokingly made a face and Dean assured him "Not you, pal." The audience, as usual, was hysterical with laughter due to Dean's great humor and timing.

The GOLDDIGGERS

I had the pleasure of working with The Golddiggers when I was overseas in 1968. They were part of the Bob Hope Show, and I got to work backstage with these wonderful performers.

Les Brown and Ann-Margret both spoke very highly of Dean, and that's a very young ME with Mr. Hope. See the UPDATE page for a nice story about him.
