Why call Unidentified Flying Objects AOP? Because UFO has become synonymous with ET spaceship in the minds of the general public and the Media, and Unidentified means unidentified. Therefore, a name change is required in order to disassociate logic and reason from fantasy and delusion.

Why study AOP? Because they exist, and most scientists refuse to study them for fear of being ridiculed. That doesn't make sense. Since when is scientific discovery ridiculous? Reports of Westchester Wing sightings in 1984-1985 as it passed 150 feet above witnesses!

"It appeared to be about as wide as the 4-lane highway.....The device was reported to have proceeded eastbound into Monticello [NY] where local police gave chase."

Note: The Manta Ray may be the same craft as the Westchester Wing (also know as the Westchester Boomerang), which was seen by tens of thousands of people in the Hudson Valley region during the 1980's (Night Siege, Hynek et al., 1987), or it may be a smaller version of that type of craft.
